Why Do You Run? An Existentialist Angst Response @Trailrunningmag @Runnersworlsuk @OrdnanceSurvey #GetOutside & #Run

I apologise in advance for the existentialist angst in this post….

I run because it is fun!  I run because I get to see cool places, lots of cool places and I get to see them in a shorter space of time.  I run, so I can sit on top of big things, looking all contemplative when in reality I’m tired from running up the hill.  ;P

Have a great Christmas!

Stepping Out Of The Suck

3:45am and the alarm sets off.  I awake to the sound of music, but motivation is distinctly lacking.  It’s windy, rainy, cold and I’m up before the sun!

Sometimes you just have to embrace the internal dulldrum and step out, and small things provide just enough of a nudge to get you moving.  This morning I’m glad I did for two reasons…

Reason 1 – Rain doesn’t always suck

Reason 2 – Even a dull field is interesting with magnificent skies

Have great Tuesday!

Nights Like This Make The Impossible Less Daunting

Sometimes, there are doubt whether we will complete impossible tasks we set ourselves.  My legs were tired from gunning the hills, by broken blisters had filled with grit and my shins where cut to ribbons from the brambles.

Still, once the Sun put on its show, it was as if nothing else really mattered.  I suddenly realised that actually, I can get through anything if I just remember to see the beauty of what is around me.
